PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION PLANTS

Airgases Projects portfolio of Adsorption ( Non-cryogenic) Plants includes PSA & VPSA Plants for production of oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and other gases. The separation process relies on selective adsorption, with porous materials adsorbing individual gases depending on pressure, temperature & selectivity of the adsorbent.

For VPSA oxygen plants and hydrogen plants Airgases Projects have technical knowhow tie up with Sumitomo Sieka, Japan, who are acknowledged to have best technical knowhow in the world, both in terms of energy efficiency and reliable operation. Besides the basic design package , Sumitomo also provides critical equipment such as air blower, vacuum pumps and switch valves besides of course molecular sieves. This ensures high reliability and availability of the VPSA oxygen plants offered by us.

Airgases Projects in collaboration with Sumitomo Seika has recently supplied 146 tpd VPSA Oxygen plant to HMEL, Bathinda Refinery .

Besides Sumitomo, Airgases Projects has technical tie up with other VSPA plant suppliers to provide cost effective plants.

For PSA Nitrogen plants Airgases Projects have technical knowhow tie up with Oxymat, Denmark, who are acknowledged to have best technical knowhow in the world, both in terms of energy efficiency and reliable operation.

In addition Airgases Projects engages in technological tie up with other adsorption technology providers on case to case basis.

Our PSA / VPSA plants employ reliable and cost-effective separation and purification technology for a wide range of process gases. The plant capacities range from small plants producing a few hundred NM3/hr to several thousand NM3/hr. OXYGEN GENERATION

The oxygen generation plants offered are based on a reliable, flexible and trouble-free vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) process though some of very low capacities are based on simple pressure swing adsorption technology. These plants using lithium based zeolite sieves are built based on Sumitomo technology and are most suitable for onsite plant producing low-cost gaseous oxygen with purity up to 93%.

HYDROGEN PLANTS INCLUDING RECOVERY & PURIFICATION PLANTS

The hydrogen plants offered are based on Sumitomo technical knowhow and are of high-performance design to recover and purify hydrogen from synthesis gases produced from steam reforming and gasification processes or off-gases from refinery and petrochemical plants or coke oven gas.

The hydrogen plant capacity range offered by us starts from small plants of few hundred NM3/hr to several thousand NM3/ hr. Sumitomo design provides high product recovery and rated purities up to 99.9999 mol-%. These plants are delivered to customers in the steel industries as well as refineries, which require large volumes of hydrogen for hydrocracking, de-aromatisation and desulphurisation. In addition hydrogen PSA plants are used in petrochemical plants requiring high volumes of hydrogen for methanol & ammonia synthesis. Special features of our hydrogen plants and purification systems include:

NITROGEN GENERATION

Our Nitrogen generation plants are based on pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology designed to deliver dry, high-purity nitrogen for inerting, blanketing and purging processes through an onsite plant. The plant capacity starts from few Nm³/h to several thousand Nm³/h. Our PSA plants are designed to produce nitrogen purities of all levels, with oxygen content ranging from a few percent down to 100 ppm. For still higher purities, a deoxo reactor can be provided though we recommend a cryogenic plant for such requirements.

These plants generally deliver gas at pressures between 4 bar(g) and 9 bar(g) . A downstream nitrogen compressor is used if higher pressures are required.
