REVAMPING & UPGRADATION OF ASU’s

Some of commonly used upgrade measures on Air separation units are listed below

  • Assessment of mostly used operating conditions of compressors and suggest if possible improvement on aero performance of compressors, if required trimming of impellers, in consultation with compressor vendor.
  • Evaluating performance of suction filters vis a vis ambient conditions and recommend servicing and modifications as required including water wash arrangement
  • Evaluation of cooler performance and wherever required recommend clean up and replacement or introduce low pressure drop coolers
  • Implementation of improved precooling system of air using evaporation coolers and direct cooled air coolers
  • Replacement of RHE design with MSA type pre-purification unit
  • Replacing electrical heating in Mol Sieve unit by steam heating or flue gas heating if such medium is available
  • Cleaning up of partially choked RHE or MHE by explosion blowing
  • Assessment of refrigeration requirement of the plant based on warm end losses & various heat in leak etc and suggest remedial measures for improvement in plant performance
  • Asses liquid losses while filling of liquids as well as while tanker filling and suggest improvements
  • Asses performance of backup system including pumping and vaporisation equipment to suggest improvement
  • Implementation of pipeline load following system for gas plants. This will continuously monitor end users gas consumption and ASU process to automatically adjust feed air and utility inputs as needed.
  • Automatic tanker filling facilities for merchant liquid. This system includes integration of weigh scales and pumps used for filling liquid tankers to predetermined weights.
