APPLICATION

The industrial gases today play a significantly important role in development of industry. Airgases Projects aims to provide high quality and innovative products and services to the industry by providing plants as well as application systems. A few major application areas are described below but there are hundreds several others where Airgases Projects can assist customers in the industry.

STEEL

The steel industry is without doubt is the largest user of industrial gases including air gases for its various processes. Airgases Projects can provide to the steel industry custom designed Air Separation Plants based on cryogenic technology which produces high purity oxygen , low purity oxygen, high purity nitrogen and argon gas required for various applications. We can also provide low purity oxygen plants based on VPSA technology and nitrogen from PSA/ membrane technology where volume of gases required is rather low and relatively lower purity products are acceptable. In addition we also offer cryogenic liquid storage, pumping and vaporisation ( SPV) systems where liquid oxygen, nitrogen or argon is purchased from external sources and stored in special cryogenic storage tanks . The liquid is pumped to required pressure or directly supplied through pressurised tank and vaporised to near ambient temperature before being used by customer for its applications.

Our team can undertake detailed simulation and analysis of the oxygen/nitrogen/ argon consumption profile, including peak consumptions, to work out most cost effective solution for the customer on “total cost of ownership” basis. As each customer has different operating conditions, we will also provide consultancy regarding the most efficient and cost-effective oxygen distribution system for customer. Airgases Projects also offers various gas application systems required for steelworks such as oxygen pressure control stations for steel melting shops, oxygen enrichment systems for blast furnaces and other distribution network. It also can supply nitrogen and argon control stations required for applications like desulphurisation and argon rinsing systems etc.

Some of applications in steel industry are:
